An Etihad spokesperson said: “Etihad Airways confirms that it has declined any offer of a potential investment in RwandAir, the national airline of Rwanda.”
RwandAir is seeking a strategic partner to help boost its competitiveness. Both Etihad and Ethiopian Airlines were understood to be in talks regarding the 49% stake. Ethiopian Airlines’ position remains unclear, although the carrier is believed to be pursuing the partnership opportunity.
The Etihad spokesperson said: “Etihad Airways is however constantly fostering and developing commercial relationships with airlines around the world, including RwandAir, in order to offer its guests a wider choice of travel options.”
